Das Phänomen NASCAR

NASCAR has been "daily business" for Pete Fink since 2007. Born in Munich, he works permanently for the largest German-language motorsport portal "Motorsport-Total.com" to provide German NASCAR fans with information about the US motorsport series. He regularly a commenttor for NASCAR races on Motorvision TV since 2012.

His book "Das Phänomen NASCAR" sheds light on the fascinating history of stock cars from the first unorganised races of whiskey smugglers to a multi-billion dollar giant. How a supposed criminal became one of NASCAR's greatest heroes is described by Pete Fink just as vividly and always entertainingly as the question of why the first victory of the later "King of NASCAR" failed due to the intervention of his own father. Or the story of Jocko Flocko - the only monkey to ever win a NASCAR race.

There must be good reasons why over 100,000 spectators flock to US speedways weekend after weekend. When the crowds follow 43 racing cars with deep roaring V8 engines and around 850 hp for four hours, when they scream their hearts out as they cheer on their heroes and then immediately head off to the next NASCAR race.
