Pirelli World Rallying 19 (1996-1997)

Martin Holmes was the chronicler and the memory of international rallying. He was present at more than 500 WRC rounds and fortunately kept records of virtually all of it. Until 2011, he published 33 of his legendary yearbooks with the precisely kept statistics of the (international and national) rallies of all countries from AUS (Australia) to ZA (South Africa). We can now offer a few like new copies from his estate.

Issue 19 offers a look back at the rally year 1996. Everyone would have expected a title from one of the Subaru drivers Colin McRae or Carlos Sainz. But it was 31-year-old Tommi Mäkinen who dominated the season and became world champion. In the 2-litre World Championship, the green Seat Ibiza kit cars were successful.
