Jürgen Barth is not only a well-known author for motor sport books, but was also a successful race driver. His biggest success was the victory in Le Mans in a Porsche 936 - therefore this book is an affair of the heart for him. Together with co-author Bernd Dobronz he describes the full design and development history of the model in detail and traces the competition history of all works entries. But it is not only a technical book as it gives a nice inside to the motor sport of the late 1970s to early 1980s and tells many anecdotes which are connected with the Porsche 936.
