At the beginning of the 20th century, supercharging and aerodynamics were among the areas of vehicle construction that needed to be explored. Mercedes-Benz was one of the pioneers in both segments and built six W29 500 K cars equipped with superchargers and streamlined bodies for the 1934 ‘2000 Kilometres across Germany’ rally. Three of these streamlined vehicles are currently being rebuilt according to original documents.
