The 24 Hours of Le Mans 2023 once again offered us a spectacle in a class of its own. The race was sold out in front of 325,000 spectators. The starting field was tantalising, as five major manufacturers were represented in the top class, something that had not happened since 1999. At the wheel were stars such as 13 former winners, 18 former F1 drivers and two winners of the Indianapolis 500 miles. It was a dramatic race. The #51 499P of James Calado/Alessandro Pier Guidi/Antonio Giovinazzi, which went head-to-head for a long time with the #8 Toyota GR010 Hybrid, finally brought Ferrari – back in the top class after 50 years – its tenth victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
