Essais Préliminaires 24h du Mans, 1970-1974

The preliminary test weekend for the 24 Hours of Le Mans were introduced by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) in 1959 to give competitors the opportunity to test their cars and drivers on the circuit a few weeks before the race. Until now, no book has ever been devoted to the history of these Essais Préliminaires. This first volume of a series covers the period from 1970 to 1974, a period of many changes – both to the track (the Maison Blanche zone in 1972) and to the regulations. The 3- or 4-hour Le Mans race, which was organized during these test weekends, is also covered in the book.
