Qui se souvient de Sylvain Garant?

The famous French rally and circuit driver Sylvain Garant began his motorsport career in the early 1960s, when he was already approaching 40. But he took off in every respect and quickly made a name for himself in rallying, hillclimbs and circuit racing. Moreover, he was on the road with sophisticated equipment and soon he was fast on Ferrari. His motto was always: fun and show! Perhaps he was not one of the most talented, but he was persistent and courageous. Sometimes the bodywork suffered, but soon he was so fast that he was able to keep up with the best. In addition, he was amiable and always in good spirits, thus he quickly made friends, especially with many top pilots. His best place in Le Mans, where he competed four times, was 13th overall in 1972 in a Porsche 911, with which he also achieved class victory.
