Ferrari F40 (Supercars)

Among the many extraordinary cars that have been created at Ferrari, one in particular still stands out today. More than 30 years after its introduction, the Ferrari F40 continues to impress. Introduced in 1987, it caused a considerable stir with its uncompromising lines, remarkable engineering and brute performance. The last GT “approved” by Enzo Ferrari is the protagonist of this book by Gaetano Derosa, which first describes the genealogy: from the 250 LM of 1963 to the 308 “Millechiodi” of 1978 to the 288 GTO of 1984 and the GTO Evoluzione of 1986.
The technical and stylistic development of the F40 is reported by those personalities who were responsible for this thoroughbred Ferrari: Leonardo Fioravanti in his dual role as designer and then vice-chairman of the company in Maranello, Nicola Materazzi, who defined the fabulous eight-cylinder engine, and Piero Ferrari, one of the great supporters of the F40 Le Mans project. The book includes one of the last interviews of the engineer Materazzi, who died shortly before the publication of the volume. The work concludes with a detailed chapter on the F40 in racing.
