Every major car manufacturer creates an archive of its most important models at some point in the company’s history. The history of the Audi brand goes back to the 19th century. The automotive treasure trove is correspondingly large, encompassing several brands: in addition to Audi, Horch, NSU, DKW, Wanderer and Auto Union.
With this opulent illustrated book, Audi opens its hall doors for the first time and lets us share in the fascinating range of its brand history, from the first Horch to the Sport Quattro prototype.

The Audi archive comprises an impressive collection that is not usually accessible to ordinary mortals. In order to document the extremely comprehensive and extensive archives of Audi AG, in-house photographer Stefan Warter spent several days in the “hallowed halls”.
