Delage Records & Grand Prix

Rarely in the history of motorsport has one marque been active in so many disciplines at once. Delage, maker of fine automobiles from the earliest days, returned to racing after the First World War in 1922, and cars made by the marque were seen in Grand Prix, endurance racing, hillclimbs and world record-breaking events. This is the story of Delage's involvement in motorsport up to the Grand Prix World Championship title in 1927, and of their development. The variety of designs of the racers from Courbevoie is particularly interesting. Four, six or twelve cylinders, single or double overhead camshafts, two or four valves, supercharging, two-stroke ... there were neither taboos nor limits. In addition, the people from the Delage development department are introduced, the events are described, and there are designs that were never realised, as well as numerous documents. Everything is illustrated with excellent photos, which together form the largest collection of photos of Delage racing cars ever.

The authors
Daniel Cabart is one of the great Delage specialists. He has been collecting everything about the glorious French marque for more than 30 years. Sébastien Faurès Fustel de Coulanges is an expert on motor racing in the 1920s. Both have written several standard works, some of them award-winning, on the subjects of motorsport and the Delage, Fiat, Farman, Lorraine-Dietrich and Ballot marques.
