Michael G. May was an engineer, race driver and explorer. He was the first person to attach a wing to his race car. This was back in 1956 and the car a Porsche 550 Spyder. Three years later in 1953 he became the first Formula Junior European Champion.

From 1960 he worked on fuel injections for Mercedes-Benz and Porsche while racing a Lotus 18 in F1. In 1963 the unforgotten Enzo Ferrari called him to become part of his team and he helped to secure the title for John Surtees.

After his work for Ferrari May founded his company Turbo-May GmbH, which developed turbo chargers for Ford and other manufacturers. Later his company developed the consumption and emission reducing Fireball-System for Jaguar before changing to researches in cancer therapies.
