To experience motorsport as closely as possible was the great ambition of a handful of passionate photographers, who founded the DPPI photo agency in 1965. 1965 is therefore naturally the first book in the "Car Racing" collection, born from the desire to bring back to life these sensations of an unforgotten era. No one would then have contradicted Ernest Hemingway stating that "there are only three sports, bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering and all the rest are merely games". Selected from the mostly unpublished archives of DPPI, the photographs reproduced here are accompanied by the comments, memories and anecdotes of the photographer Manou Zurini and the journalist Johnny Rives.
